The Blues

No not the music genre but the Missus. Have to add she's doing particularly well as I'm putting up this blog.

Baby Jacob is in the hospital for jaundice treatment and will be back tomorrow before 12pm. Missus fever has also went down and feeling better.

The silver lining of Jacob not being around is the much needed sleep and rest the Missus needed, so maybe thats why she's not so blue now.

I do miss the little bugger, I particularly enjoy his expressions and his cries when he wants milk. Like all other babies when they want to be fed, they will cry like the whole world is against them. Jacob being the soft whimpering cries makes him looks so pitiful. LOL

Brought the Missus to the hospital during lunch to have her breast fed Jacob and also to allow her to hold him for that hour. She's taking it really well surprisingly.

So here's another picture of Jacob being well fed, contented and without a care of this world.

Fatherhood

There's many things to rant about, talk about, but before I continue to rant and then forget what I wanna talk about, lets list it out;

1. I hate parents who brag about their child (oooh he can say aaaah already, oooh look he/she can break the olympic world record already, oooh my child's shit has such a nice smell). Its crap. kids grow up and its nothing even if IT does break world records.

2. Fears of turning into point 1.

3. So is my child cute?

4. How does it feel to be  a father?

So lets start with point 1. I will disallow myself from revolving  my world around him. I will of course, take care of him the best I can, but my world will not revolve around him. He is merely part of my life, like many other things in my life that adds up to the fulfillment of my life.

What's the fear? Not of losing control, but of the ir
ritating feeling I get when parents starts to show me the 'wonders' of their kid, like singing twinkle twinkle little star.... I don't want my kid to be performing to Aunties and Uncles as I look on adoringly. I should be able to do that even if he doesn't do any of the 'wonders'

Is my child cute? See it for yourself.. can you call that wrinkled bugger cute? The 2nd photo is to show the Sikh Godfather how big his gifts were on that little bugger. Poor thing huh? See how screwed up he already is? Don't blame me, blame the bhai.
I still have the surreal feeling to be honest, that is because I've taken care of many babies before and even till today (he's 3.5 days old), I still feel I'm helping someone else take care of him, And the someone else is none other than the missus. Weird huh? But I guess the feeling will come in time. My godfather says its about getting used to it. So we'll see.

More tomorrow.

What a year it has been

Hello my fair weathered friends.

Its time to update my blog and do it more regularly. So much has happened since the last post, so I will do it in point form and then rant about it from days to come.

1. I am going to be a father soon. The kids name will be Jacob Tan and he gets a Sikh godfather, yup he's going to be as screwed up as me, so might as well start when he's REALLY young. HAHA.

2. I've resigned from my current job of 4 years and 1.5 months. Mixture of relief and happiness because I do not see a future in that company anymore. A bit disappointed how things turn out to be that way. Life is such.

Hey actually there isn't anymore to add because those 2 are really major in Ones life isn't it?
Of course there is a point 3 which will be brought for all to see when the time is right.

Meantime there are many questions from younger folks about being a father/parent to be. I think women will feel there are more changes physically and mentally compared to men. I'm not sure if I'm actually ready. Of course there was joy and happiness when I heard the news, I actually made the missus checked 3 times before going to the doctors immediately to confirm the news.

After that due to this silly custom, no one was suppose to know till she was 3 months on. In the 3 months there was apprehension, delight, mixed emotions and fear. See, I wasn't brought up in a very very happy family or the Sillypore type of family. I've got a complicated family structure and had quite an abusive father. There was that apprehension that I'll abuse Jacob...

Jacob will  come to this world in the next few days. To be honest about things missus and me were hoping for a girl. Still we know we will love him and offer him the best as we can. But if he thinks he can get away with some of the stunts some sillyporeans do, he'll be very very sorry for it. I don't take too kindly to tantrums.

Missus has been having slow contractions for the past 2 days now, so its anytime soon.

So those complaining about how my blog is 'pictureless' maybe, just maybe, i'll post up a picture of Jacob.

More tomorrow.

Updating this 'blog'

Yes, its been helluva long time, readers and I'm sure most of you have stopped coming in.

All due respect to bloggers who updates thier blog everyday or every other day. It sure takes lots of discipline and sometimes I guess I understand thier responsibility to thier readers.

There's plenty in my mind this time, so this will get wordy. Firstly, a little bird flew in and told me that our dear good friend who stays near Vancouver might be able to come to Sillypore! Woots!!! I hope she'll come to work for us during her little stay. :)

I've just recieved a nice email in regards to our CPF (Cannot Pay Forever) about the draw down age to 65. I think the gaberment has failed to answer WHY would anyone in thier right mind want to WORK till 65 IF they can afford to retire. The slant that the PAP is giving is that people wants to work till 65 because they like to. They have failed to realise that people CANNOT afford NOT to work till 65 or more because of the hefty house loans and high cost of living. Irregardless of all thier statistics, pure fact is that no old folks want to be working as dishwashers or other menial jobs. And they are doing it now because they don't have a choice!

Lets not even argue about annuity....

Of course if they are all in the position of our beloved LKY, where he works with his mouth, then all old folks will gladly work till 85 for his salary. Actually for half his salary. err wait, for 1/4 of his salary, Wait... I think singapore old folks will be very happy with 1/8th of his salary.

PAP has also failed to answer this question. Since their salaries are pegged to CEOs and watnots minusing some obscure %age, CAN US the Citizens who are like the shareholders, SACK non performing ministers?

Sillyporeans who doesn't want to be silly should start asking such questions and asking them louder, if not we'll always be sillyporeans and one day *Yikes* become stupidporeans.

Oh by the way, i'm hunting for an accounts girl to takeover a girl who has just resigned. Because I can't afford to pay some rich ass bastard in the UK, I've to settle for someone locally. So if any of you readers are interested in the job, drop a comment and I'll keep it away from view.

This blog took me 6hours to write, because I was interrupted countless times by idiots.

Till then, take care and have a nice week ahead!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISSUS TINA TAN!!!!

Yes Alright Already!! Stop telling me I haven't updated this blog! And no I'm not too old to blog, besides its more of rantings then a blog even though I do add some personal things in here.

So what have you guys been up to? Its only been 9 days and I hope it has already stopped some of you from coming in. Why would I wanna do that? I'll let you know when I come out with the answers.

Life has been pretty interesting lately. But before I go on today's rant, a Huge BIG shout to my Wife, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

This time, she absolutely ban me from buying her a gift. My wallet is so happy and my bank account is laughing in glee. BUT, she did say I owe her one and when she wants something I've to go get it. *sigh*

Ok back to life has been pretty interesting. Do you guys realise how quickly our lives changes? When you change a job, when you change boyfriends/girlfriends or change your circle of friends or when you allow someone new into your circle of friends. Things changes so quickly sometimes and you can't really put a finger to it.

Well things haven't changed that drastically for me and if it does, I hope it changes for the better. You see this few days I've been busy at work and searching for a house. I decided to ballot for one. I sure hope I can afford it if I manage to win the ballot.

With the missus family coming in June/July, I need a bigger space to put them in. Thats a headache, albeit a nice one.

So hows the first week of new year treating you? Write about it after you click on 'COMMENT'

Welcome 2008

Oh ya. its the first day of the New Year and what have you done to kick off this year?

Well, I can tell you, I hate it. Why? Because the festive season is over. The long holidays, the TV, the couch all will be missing me. And I miss them so very much.

Its time to clean off the slime on my body and start behaving like a human again. YUCKS. All I ever wanted was to be a couch slug... Is that too much to ask for?

So are you one of those who have a resolution? Well my missus is the only one I know off who did manage to get through most of her resolutions. I have resolutions too. But i broke them all within the first day. For e.g.

1. Stop Smoking. I did stop smoking for a few hours during 2008, but it was such a silly resolution, I broke it.
2. Stop Swearing, I did stop swearing during 2008, well for a few hours, until a stupid commercial interrupted my TV.
3. Stop dirtying the house. Well I did stop dirtying the house until i decided to clear the ashtray and well.. the inevitable happened and it broke my resolution. Well it was another silly resolution anyway. Who cares? Besides the missus. ooops....

I'm looking forward to 2008 for a myriad of reasons. There are many more new things to do in my career. Its going to be a very busy work year for me and I hope things turn out right.

I've to move house AGAIN by the end of Dec 2008 so I gotta make a decision by July/August latest.

There's also something thats brewing and its not the right time to announce it. When the time is right, my dear readers, you'll be SHOCKED off your booty boots.

Alright so the truth be told, the new year means its time to start working and get serious with your jobs. We all want a good start to the new year and I hope all of you buckle up, pull up your socks and get it moving. Lets look forward to a prosperous 2008.

A very Happy New Year to you.
